Yeah, I know that I reported information to the contrary a couple of days back, but now it seems that everyone was wrong and that John Gulager’s toothy sequel will in fact be receiving a UK wide cinema release.
Today, HeyUGuys have reported that UK distributor Entertainment Film do indeed have plans to unleash the fishy horde upon UK screens and are quoted in their statement as saying,
“We would like to assure everyone that Piranha 3DD will not be going straight to DVD in the U.K. as mistakenly reported. We will be giving Piranha 3DD a full theatrical release and the film will not be released on DVD until the usual window post U.K. theatrical release.”
So there you have it. The Harleyquin can now go and enjoy the boob filled, bitey flick, in 3D, on the big screen.
The synopsis is as follows,
Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Thought they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and take on these man-eating creatures using every ounce of their being … but can they be stopped.
Written by Feast scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Clu Gulager, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames (though he appeared to die in Piranha 3D) and David Hasselhoff.
No date as yet but stay tuned…
