First poster released for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie…

It’s been a few weeks since we last mentioned Tim Burton’s stop motion remake of one of his earliest films, Frankenweenie.

Now, we have a poster available.

The synopsis is as follows,

“From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

A stop-motion animated film, Frankenweenie, will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.”

Frankenweenie stars Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer alongside previous Burton alumni including Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Landau (Ed Wood), Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands) and Martin Short (Mars Attacks!).

An homage to Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and originally filmed as a featurette way back in 1984 by a blossoming young director named Tim Burton, Frankenweenie 1984 starred Daniel Stern (C.H.U.D. and, of course, Home Alone) and Shelley Duvall (The Shining) and Barrett Oliver as Victor.

Frankenweenie is set for release in the UK on October 5th 2012.
