As El Hefe reported only days ago, Machete Kills, the sequel to Ethan Maniquis’ fantastic 2010 Grindhouse homage, Machete, has been green lit.
Any Machete related news is good news, I’m pretty sure you’ll agree. Well read on…
Just as things get moving at the European Film Market in Berlin this week, we are treated to some early sales art for Machete Kills and the news that Robert Rodriguez (The Faculty, From Dusk ‘Till Dawn, Planet Terror) is going to deliver the goods by handling the direction.
Rodriguez even teased that the third installment in the trilogy may be titled Machete Kills Again…In Space! This is far too much good news to handle.
The synopsis is as follows,
Machete Kills sees Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space.
The film will most definitely star the iconic Danny Trejo and I forsee a plethora of actors desperate to work on the project, perhaps even some recurring characters?
So expect more updates on this as we get them, we’re all over this like a fucking God-damn ex-Federale!
