This Day in Horror- March 4th

On this day in horror…

1922 sees the German premiere of F.W. Muranu’s Nosferatu. The film gained notoriety for being an unauthorised film version of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, with many of the details changed in an attempt to camouflage this fact.

1973. Writer, director and producer Len Wiseman is born. Wiseman has contributed to the genre through his various credits on the Underworld franchise and has the honour of being Kate Beckinsale’s husband. We here at AndyErupts salute you, sir!

1999 sees the Japanese release of Konami’s Silent Hill on the Playstation. The Silent Hill franchise has proved to be wildly popular, with eight instalments and has spawned both film adaptations and novelisations. To date, this is still the only computer game that has actually given me the creeps.
