It’s great to see Rutger Hauer back doing gritty films again. One cannot forget classics such as Blade Runner, Blind Fury and The Hitcher. He has had experienced something of a rebirth of late, popping up in such films as Sin City and Jason Eisener’s grindhouse splatterama, Hobo With A Shotgun. He was born for these kind of roles.
Moviehole are now reporting that Hauer has signed on to join Christian Slater and Peter Facinelli for new flick Way of the Wicked, to be directed by newcomer Kevin Carraway (Seven Below, The Fear Chamber)
The synopsis is as follows,
Lawrence Salva’s (Seven Below) script centers on a detective (Twilight star Facinelli), on the trail of a murderer, who is led to believe that a local teenager, harboring some sort of strange supernatural power, may be involved. Slater plays the man’s disbelieving boss, while Hauer plays a man-of-the-cloth who aids the cop on his mission.
