1958. Michelle Pfeiffer is born. Pfeiffer has starred in such genre films as: Wolf, What Lies Beneath, The Witches of Eastwick; and will be seen in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows.
1972 sees the birth of actor and stuntman Derek Mears. At 6’5″ and powerfully built, Mears was destined for roles in horror and has starred in: Predators, Hellbinders, The Hills Have Eyes II, Cursed; and will be seen in the upcoming films Compound Fracture alongside Tyler Mane and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters with Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton. Mears is probably best known for his physical turn as Jason Voorhees in 2009′s remake of Friday the 13th.
1980 marks the passing of genre genius Alfred Hitchcock. Dubbed “The Master of Suspense”, Hitchcock gave the horror genre such films as: The Birds, Vertigo, Frenzy; and the iconic Psycho.
