EXCLUSIVE – Night Of The Living Dead: Resurrection secures UK distribution…

Another slice of good news coming at us tonight from our friends in Wales and this one is a real cracker.

Fresh from wrapping Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Homecoming, producer Andrew Jones of North Bank Entertainment got in touch to inform us that his last endeavour, Night Of The Living Dead: Resurrection has FINALLY secured UK distribution.

Produced and co-written by Jones and directed by James Plumb, the film is based on George A. Romero’s 1968 classic classic but focuses on four generations of a family trapped in a farmhouse in Wales during a zombie apocalypse.

The rights have been snapped up by 4Digital Media in a deal that will see the film receive a limited theatrical release in select UK cinemas followed by a DVD and VOD release.

Andrew Jones had the following to say:

“We are delighted to be teaming up with 4Digital Media to bring NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: RESURRECTION to UK audiences. This film is a completely different take on the classic concept so audiences going into this movie expecting a retread of the original film will be surprised by the new twists and turns our story takes. Zombies have penetrated popular culture and in recent years they have often been used in humorous ways. But we are aiming purely for scares with this film while adding a new level of threat to our main protagonists in order to really ramp up the tension.”

Add this to the previously announced US distribution deal with Grindstone Entertainment Group and Lionsgate Home Entertainment and I would say that’s some pretty impressive work.

On behalf of everyone at AndyErupts I would like to congratulate Andrew, James and everyone involved in the film. It’s great to see UK independent genre films being noticed.

More as it comes!
