It seems genre film stars are simply queing up to join onto whatever projects Adam Green is involved with.
Everyone who is anyone in horror wants to work with Green and why not? Green is a horror fan first and that translates perfectly into his work.
Green’s Hatchet movies have attracted some massive names in the past including Robert Englund, R.A. Mihailoff and A.J. Bowen.
So with the third installment in pre-production under the watchful eye of cameraman turned director, B.J. McDonnell and with Green taking up the role of producer, it seems timely to take a peek at which stars will be next to feel the wrath of Victor Crowley in Hatchet III.
Variety have reported that Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs), Diane Goldner (The Collector), and The FP writer-director-star Jason Trost have all agreed to appear, alongside Danielle Harris (Hatchet II) and Kane Hodder, who reprises his role as Crowley.
Speaking to Variety, McDonnell had the following to say, “I’m overjoyed to be working with this cast. I’ve been on projects with all of them, and I’m so glad to have them be a part of my directorial debut and as the latest members of the ever-growing Hatchet family.”
Speaking of the cast, Green himself said, “Part of the joy in writing these films is being able to write roles with specific actors in mind. So many great performers from the genre have asked to be included over the years.“
Hatchet 3 will film near New Orleans from late May to mid June.
