1935. Doug McClure is born. Star of many Saturday afternoon favourites from my childhood such as: The Land That Time Forgot, At The Earth’s Core and Warlords of Atlantis, McClure has contributed to the genre through his roles in films such as: Satan’s Triangle, Humanoids from the Deep and The House Where Evil Dwells.
1979. Melissa Bacelar is born. Actress and model Bacelar has starred in horror flicks such as: Zombie Ed, Pink Eye, Beneath The Dark and Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV.
1984 sees the US theatrical release of the screen adaptation of Stephen King’s Firestarter starring Martin Sheen, George C. Scott and a young Drew Barrymore.
