On this day in horror…

 

1941, Grace Zabriskie is born. Zabriskie is notable for her work with David Lynch and appeared in his 1990 road movie, Wild At Heart and as Laura Palmer’s grieving mother, Sarah, in Twin Peaks and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Zabriskie has also enjoyed roles in Child’s Play 2 and the American remake of The Grudge.

1955, Bill Paxton is born. Paxton is something of a legend, having appeared in films such as Predator 2, The Terminator, True Lies and as Private Hudson in James Cameron’s Aliens. Paxton also starred in Kathryn Bigelow’s excellent vampire flick, Near Dark.

1973, Matthew McGrory is born. Standing at 7 feet 6 inches tall, McGrory appeared in several roles where he was clearly picked for his size. McGrory died in 2005 but ill be most fondly remembered for his roles as Karl the Giant in Tim Burton’s Big Fish and as hulking killer, Tiny, in Rob Zombie’s House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. The latter was dedicated to him.
