This Day In Horror- May 18th

On this day in horror…

1924 – Priscilla Pointer is born. Pointer has appeared in films such as Twilight Zone: The Movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and C.H.U.D. II – Bud the Chud. Pointer also appeared in Brian De Palma’s Carrie playing the on-screen mother of her actual daughter, Amy Irving.
1962 – Karel Roden is born. Czech-born Roden has featured in several genre films including Orphan, The Abandoned, Blade II, Hellboy and A Lonely Place To Die. He will soon be seen in Frankenstein’s Army.
1971 – The Abominable Dr. Phibes is released theatrically in the US. One of my favourite films, The Abominable Dr. Phibes starred the incomparable and irreplaceable Vincent Price as Dr. Anton Phibes, a demented doctor who staves off death to seek revenge on the nine doctors he considers responsible for his wife’s death.
