Wright, Pegg and Frost to reunite for third comedy, The World’s End…

Spaced. One of the finest British comedy series’ of all time, in my humble opinion. Shaun Of The Dead. Quite simply, the best horror comedy ever made. Hot Fuzz. Hilarious, touching and positively RAMMED with references to genre films.

Let’s just face it. Having Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg working together is a recipe for comedy gold and with the global success of Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, everyone has been waiting for news of their next collaboration.

Well it’s coming…and it looks like it will be another genre comedy.

Deadline are reporting that The World’s End, the last in the trilogy of comedies that began with Shaun, will begin filming in September. Wright will direct from a script co-written with Pegg and will reunite Pegg with his best friend, Nick Frost.

The synopsis is as follows,

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End.

As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries…

HOW CAN THIS FAIL???

The World’s End is scheduled to arrive in Spring 2013.

More as it comes…
