While it was only a few days ago that the mighty Shengis Khan reported that Samuel L Jackson is set to appear in the new RoboCop project, the rumour mill is rife with news that Abbie Cornish (Limitless, Suckerpunch) has been offered the lead female role in the forthcoming flick.
The role is that of Murphy’s wife, who believes that her husband is dead, leaving her widowed. Joel Kinnaman, the actor who’ll be taking the titular role has offered the following on the project:
“‘RoboCop’ is going to be a lot more human. The first movie is one of my favorite movies. I love it. Of course, Verhoeven has that very special tone, and it’s not going to have that tone. It’s a re-imagination of it. There’s a lot of stuff from the original. There are some details and throwbacks, but this version is a much better acting piece … it’s not going to be jaw action. They’re still working on the suit and how it’s going to look, but the visor is going to be see-through. You’re going to see his eyes.”
There’s not much else to say on this one at the moment but by the looks of it, it won’t be long until the cast is assembled and the new RoboCop will be on its way!
