Coulrophobes beware! Stephen King’s It to make a comeback!

I wonder what Zombie Dave, the resident Stephen King expert, will make of this news…

Many of King’s works are massive, epic tomes that have failed to impress King’s loyal fanbase when transferred to the big screen. With that in mind, Warner Bros are planning the re-do of Stephen King’s It to take place over TWO films.

Previously adapted for a TV mini-series in 1990, this update on King’s work will see Cary Fukunaga (Jane Eyre) directing and co-writing the script along with Chase Palmer. Additionally, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are all on board to produce this project which has languished in developmental purgatory for some time now. It is the inclusion of Grahame-Smith that piques my interest, since he is currently Hollywood hot property; he’s the man responsible for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, has co-penned the script for the adaptation of his own book Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter; and penned the script for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows AND is rumoured to be working on the script for Beetlejuice 2.

You can be sure that we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one and looking out for who’ll be cast in the role of Pennywise…
