We at AndyErupts are gutted to hear the sad news today about the passing of genre actor, Richard Lynch.
He was 72.
Recognisable for his distinctly scarred face, the result of a self-inflicted fire in the sixties, Lynch carved out a niche in sci-fi and horror films and is perhaps best known for his turn in Bad Dreams. He also appeared in genre fayre such as Robert Hall’s Laid to Rest, Puppet Master III: Toulon’s Revenge, Scarecrow, The Sword and the Sorcerer and Invasion U.S.A.
Lately, Lynch had worked with Rob Zombie, filling the role of the cantankerous Principal Chambers in Zombie’s remake of Halloween and, more recently, on Zombie’s upcoming witchcraft chiller, The Lords Of Salem.
Today, Zombie took to his Facebook and said, “Richard was great to work with and really gave it his all. I will never forget the way he scared the crap out of the kid actors in HALLOWEEN. He will be missed.”
We here at AndyErupts would like to echo that sentiment.
RIP Richard.
