Wow.
The uncertainty continues to grow surrounding the current status of Marc Forster’s big screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ epic zombie novel, World War Z.
The recent buzz was that Damon Lindelof (Prometheus, Star Trek) had been drafted in to re-write the ending of the troubled film, however, Deadline have reported that it is, in fact, Drew Goddard, director of The Cabin In The Woods and writer of Cloverfield who is the man tasked with fixing this mess.
With an alleged seven additional weeks of re-shoots required and a budget already running into hundreds of millions of dollars, will the writing of Goddard be enough to pull WWZ back from the brink of being nothing more than a very expensive turkey?
Director Forster has copped a lot of the flak, as has leading man and producer Brad Pitt.
Who knows what WWZ will become. Time will tell…
More as it comes.
