The official trailer for the upcoming new chiller Berberian Sound Studio was released yesterday and it looks…fantastic. A real cracker.
Set in the titular studio in the 70s era, the ever delightful Toby Jones (Frost/Nixon, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) stars as a sound man working on a new Italian horror film. But as his work progresses, the studio begins to get creepier and creepier off screen as well as on…
It’s only the second feature by writer and director Peter Strickland (Katalan Varga) but the critics seem to be falling over themselves about the movie. It was first shown at The International Edinburgh Film Festival and has already received overwhelmingly positive reviews.
The film goes on general release here on August 31st but if you are far too desperate to wait that long to see it, you could always catch it at the Film4 Frightfest which it is part of and runs between the 23rd and 27th August at the Empire Cinema in London.
We’re excited about this one. Here is the trailer.
