Husk director to deliver new version of The Monkey’s Paw…

W.W. Jacobs’ short story The Monkey’s Paw has become something of a pop culture phenomenon.

Endlessley lampooned by the likes of The Simpsons, Tales From The Crypt and The X-Files, the story of The Monkey’s Paw is essentially a morality tale, warning the reader against interfering in the business of fate.

With countless versions already out there, are we all crying out for a new version of the story?

No? Too bad for you then as Bloody-Disgusting are reporting that a new version is inbound courtesy of Husk director Brett Simmons and writer Macon Blair (Murder Party, Hellbenders).

Blair and Simmons take on events will follow Jake Tilton, who, after scoring the creepy “monkey’s paw” from a co-worker, finds his life completely flipped upside down after making a pair of wishes, one of which involves resurrecting his best friend, Tony Cobb, from the dead into a sort of unkillable zombie. Cobb pressures Jake into using his final wish to reunite Cobb with his son, but he has other plans and must outwit his psychotic friend who’s on a murder spree.

More as it comes…
