Latest Silent Hill: Revelation 3D poster revealed…

MovieInsider.com has revealed, what they describe as, a “primary poster” for the upcoming sequel to the 2006 Silent Hill movie, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

As you are no doubt well aware, both films are based on the video game series of the same name created by Konami. The original Silent Hill movie followed the tale of Rose (Radha Mitchell), who was searching for her adopted daughter through the titular, terrifying town which seems to be like a hell on Earth with monsters, cults and lots and lots of fog and ash.

Silent Hill was loosely based on the the four video games that preceded it’s release and, it has to be said, fared a lot better than most video game to film transitions. Pleasing fans of the series and movie goers alike, if not the film critics who almost universally panned it.

The new tells of the tale of Heather Mason, whose father Harry Mason (played by Sean Bean, who also reprises his role as Chris Da Silva from the first film) has mysteriously disappeared. She is drawn into the town with its “strange and terrifying alternate reality” where she must fight demons from her past and unlock nightmares she has had since she was a child.

Adelaide Clemens (Vampire, Camilla Dickinson) plays Heather and heads a cast including the returning protagonist Radha Mitchell, Malcolm McDowell, Carrie-Anne Moss, Deborah Kara Unger and Kit Harington (Game Of Thrones). Writer/Director Michael J Bassett (Solomon Kane, Wilderness) takes the helm.

Anyway, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D will be released in cinemas on Halloween (31st October) this year.
