On this day in horror…
1920. Yul Brynner is born. Noted more for his turns in westerns and films such as The Magnificent Seven, The Ten Commandments and The King and I, Brynner has starred in The Barony, a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York of 2012… However, it was his turn as The Gunslinger in the screen adaptation of Michael Crichton’s Westworld that merits his mention in today’s TDiH. As a child, Brynner terrified me in that role!
1952 sees the birth of Stephen Lang. Noted for his turns as military men and villains, Lang has contributed to the genre through his roles in: Manhunter, D-Tox and the upcoming Backmask.
1972. Michael Rosenbaum is born. Perhaps best known as the young Lex Luthor in Smallville, Rosenbaum has starred in horror films such as Cursed and Urban Legend.
