What Ever Happened To Baby Jane remake in the works…

Wow. I really don’t know what to say about this.

On one hand, it could be considered a travesty. Re-hashing one of the most sinister, yet spectacular, films in cinema history. Yet on the other hand, the chosen director is a man whose films I have an incredible amount of affection for.

In 1962, director Robert Aldrich brought together legendary screen stars and real-life rivals Bette Davis and Joan Crawford for a film called What Ever Happened To Baby Jane, the story of faded actresses Blanche and ‘Baby’ Jane Hudson, whose rivalry leads them to torture each other and their feud grows more and more twisted as the film progresses.

Today, What Ever Happened To Baby Jane is considered one of the best films of all time and earned Davis a Best Actress Oscar nomination.

Now, Deadline are reporting that The Aldrich Company have teamed up with director Walter Hill to bring us a remake.

Hill is the director of such films as The Warriors, 48 Hours and Red Heat. Oh yeah, he also wrote the screenplay for Aliens and Alien 3.

Quite who Hill would get to fill the legendary shoes of Davis and Crawford, I do not know, but I cannot wait to find out.

More as it comes.
