NBC’s upcoming series Hannibal is actually one of the very few new TV shows that I am actually looking forward to and, if handled properly, Bryan Fuller’s brainchild could really be something quite special indeed.
Now TV Line are reporting the news that yet another cast member has been added to the ranks.
Caroline Dhavernas has been added to the cast as “a series regular named Dr. Alana “Al” Bloom, a psychiatric protege of Hannibal Lecter’s who teaches psychology at Georgetown University and is consulting with the FBI on criminal profiling when she introduces her mentor to Laurence Fishburne’s Jack Crawford.”

Wolf-eared fans of past Hannibal Lecter films may have heard the name of Dr. Bloom uttered in passing but now, we will get to know a little more about the good Doctor.
Dhavernas joins a cast that includes Hugh Dancy, who will tackle the role of troubled agent, Will Graham, and that Casino Royale bad-guy Mads Mikkelsen will fill the not inconsiderable shoes of Sir Anthony Hopkins as he steps into the role of Hannibal Lecter. Laurence Fishburne will handle the role of FBI Director of Behavioural Sciences, Jack Crawford.
The pilot episode of Hannibal will be directed by David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse).
More as it comes…
