Further bad news for World War Z…

The internet is currently awash with the many articles reporting the troubles that plague World War Z‘s development. Currently lingering in production hell, Marc Forster’s’ has endured re-writes, over zealous border control seizing their props and is set to head back to London for a costly 7 week re-shoot.

The latest news may be the most disheartening of all.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there is enough quality footage cut together to fill 52 minutes of screen time, which makes me wonder what the hell they’ve shot for months on end?? Could this be to do with the feuds on set? Could they have spent their budget in the many good public houses in Glasgow? yeah, that’s right, they filmed here in bonnie Glasgow) or the fact that Prometheus writer Damon Lindelof was called in to do the third act….but quickly washed his hands of it, handing it off to Cabin In The Woods director Drew Goddard as there was so much additional work needed done?

Most likely, all the above. However we can only hope these troubles don’t jeopardise the final film.

The film stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dalem, Matthew ‘Lost’ Fox, and David Morse who all of which will be antipating release in June 21, 2013. Lets not  hold our breaths just yet…

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.
