Relatively unknown model and actress Megan Gale, once cast as the Amazon warrior princess Wonder Woman in director George Miller’s cancelled DC super hero fest The Justice League, has joined the cast of the director’s eagerly anticipated Max Max: Fury Road.
Australian Megan, 37, an Italian fashion house model and minor actress in Italian cinema, has only had one major starring role – in 2009′s I Love You Too where she played an, er, Italian fashion model. She hit the headlines most prominently in 2008 when it had been revealed that Miller had offered her the role of one of comic book’s first ladies.
Miller’s script sees Mad Max (Tom Hardy) caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron). A battle erupts on the road in front of them over the course of the film as they attempt to push the rig to safer terrain. It’s the third sequel to the 33 year old Mad Max, starring Mel Gibson and began filming in Nambia four weeks ago. Details are sketchy at the size of Ms Gale’s role or who she will play, but she joins an impressive cast headed by The Dark Knight Rises‘ Tom Hardy as “Mad” Max Rockatansky, Oscar winner Charlize Theron, former WWE wrestler-turned-actor Nathan Jones and (HarleyQuin’s favourite bit of news) Transformers 3‘s Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Here’s a pic of Rosie just for you, Harley.
