The more I hear about the casting for NBC’s Hannibal TV Series, the more I’m drawn towards liking the idea.
A TV series is the perfect way to explore the depths of one of horrors finest creations and Andy has previously vouched interest in the series. I only hope that the pilot episode, directed by David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), serves its purpose. TV series are just as exciting as movies these days so hopefullly Hannibal lives up to the task.
Lara Jean Chorostecki has joined the Hannibal cast alongside Mads Mikkelsen, who steps into the role of Hannibal Lecter (no pressure there), Caroline Dhavernas as Dr Alana ‘Al’ Bloom, Hugh Dancy who plays the role of troubled agent Will Graham, and Laurence Fishburne will star as FBI Director of Behavioural Sciences, Jack Crawford.

Chorostecki will star as sleazy tabloid reporter Freddie Lounds, a role previously played by Stephen Lang in Manhunter and Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Red Dragon. Fans of those films will know exactly how Lounds’ story ends. Casting a female in the role is very interesting and makes me wonder what other ideas Bryan Fuller has up his sleeve.
As always, more news when we have it.
