Man, there are a HELL of a lot of zombie films out there now, aren’t there?
The undead menace have never been more popular than they are today? Why is that? Could it be that the zombie film is one of the simplest ways for a fledgling director to cut his teeth? Who knows but as long as people are still craving them, as a zombie craves brains, the zombie film will continue to shuffle forth.
There are several zombie flicks on offer at this year’s Frightfest, including Cockneys vs Zombies….
The synopsis is as follows,
Andy and Terry: Two hapless cockney brothers who try to save their grandad’s care home by robbing a bank. At the same time, a virus sweeps across East London turning all the inhabitants into flesh eating zombies. Faced with hordes of undead zombies, the challenge is to rescue a home full of tough old folks, escape with the loot, and get out of London alive!
Written by James Moran (Tower Block, Silent Night Of The Living Dead) and directed by Matthias Hoene, Cockney’s vs Zombies stars Michelle Ryan (Eastenders, The Bionic Woman), Georgia King (Tormented), Harry Treadaway, Alan Ford (Snatch) and Honor Blackman (Goldfinger‘s Pussy Galore).
