1965, Courtney Gains is born. Gains first role, also one of his finest, came as Malachai in Fritz Kiersch’s 1984 adaptation of Stephen King’s The Children Of The Corn. Gains has since appeared as Tom Hanks oddball neighbour Hans in Joe Dante’s The ‘Burbs and Rob Zombie’s Halloween.

 

1967, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is born. Frequently cast as African characters, despite being very much British, this imposing actor has appeared in several films including Congo, The Thing (2011) and The Mummy Returns. He has also appeared in Oz and Lost. Will soon be seen alongside Sylvester Stallone and Jason “Conan” Momoa in Walter Hill’s Bullet To The Head.

1997, Guillermo Del Toro’s Mimic, starring Mira Sorvino, Josh Brolin and Charles S. Dutton is released in US cinemas.
