1929, Vera Miles is born. Miles has appeared in MANY, many roles in classic films but is best known to horror fans for her appearances in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Psycho and its 1983 sequel.

 

1963, Chan-wook Park is born. South Korean director Park has brought us such cinematic gems as his “Vengeance Trilogy”, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, Old Boy and Lady Vengeance. He also directed the priest-turned-vampire thriller Thirst. He recently completed his first English language film, Stoker, starring Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska, Dermot Mulroney and Matthew Goode.

 

1965, Roger Avary is born. Avary has written such films as Killing Zoe and The Rules Of Attraction and also wrote the story for Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. He also penned 2006′s Silent Hill.
