1950, John Landis is born. Landis has directed many comedy films including Trading Places, National Lampoon’s Animal House and The Blues Brothers. Besides directing the incredible horror comedy An American Werewolf In London, Landis also helmed Burke & Hare and the world’s greatest music video, Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

1978, Joe Dante’s fishy classic Piranha receives its US theatrical release.

1984, Kyle Schmid is born. Schmid has appeared in several horror films including The Covenant, Dead Before Dawn 3D, The Thaw and can be seen in the US version of Being Human.
