Grimmfest organisers plan three nights of Halloween madness…

So, with the seats in Manchester’s Dancehouse still cooling from this years Grimm Up North festival, you could be forgiven for expecting the organisers to take a well-deserved rest.

If that’s the case, you clearly don’t know how these guys operate.

Never content to rest on their laurels, the Grimm-guys are already hard at work figuring out how best to celebrate Halloween and, by God,  are they doing it in style.

October 31st

Halloween itself, sees them roll back into Stockport’s Plaza cinema, also the venue for this year’s Grimmfest Preview Night, for a screening of the best horror film of all time. The Daddy of them all. The Exorcist.

Enough said. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Weve been told there will also be a paranormal tour of the historic venue after the screening! Well be along to offer scary merchandise and a few prizes for the night!

November 1st

The action returns to The Dancehouse as those kind hearted chaps offer up a double bill, this time of Italian horror supremo Dario Argento’s magnificent Suspiria screening alongside Excision, the eagerly awaited first feature from Richard Bates, ahead of its UK release.

There will also be some exclusive trailers, raffle prizes and a few surprises! Fancy dress is optional. Beer from £1.50 a bottle. Bar open till late. The perfect Halloween party night for horror movie fans.

To avoid disappointment, pre-book at the early-bird price. Tickets will also be available on the door. Venue details here.

£7.50 plus 49p booking fee.

November 6th

The Plaza will play host to a double bill of Stephen King-flavoured shenanigans in the form of the remastered, extended cut of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece The Shining, alongside the critically acclaimed new documentary, Room 237, that delves deep into the weird and wonderful conspiracy theories that surround Kubrick’s movie.

Start time: 7.00pm. Book tickets via Plaza website/booking line or on the door. Full bar and drinks allowed in the auditorium with prizes galore up for grabs in the raffle.
